Cordless Drill Simplified
Not long ago I had a few friends aboard and I had asked them if they could replace the plastic mounting handle on the outboard motor. This required that they drill a blank piece of plastic that I had brought for this.
“Do you have a cordless drill?” was the next thing asked.
I thought about it, smiled, and said YES, I sure do. I handed them this cordless drill. They just stared at it for a moment, smiled, and said, “Well OK, I guess that will work”.
Sure it will. And it did.

It takes up little space in the tool locker, never runs out of battery power, never needs charging, is fairly corrosion resistant, and has a hollow handle that can store a dozen drill bits. What’s not to like. The cost can be anywhere from $5 on Ebay for a “Vintage” model, or $20 on Amazon for a modern version.
