“Just Right” bed
Here’s one that I think many people can use. Everyone that I mention this solution to has thanked me, it seems to be a common problem.
On my Beneteau First, the V-berth cushions where my wife and I sleep were replaced recently. The new foam cushions are too firm resulting in back aches by morning. To soften them , I took a ¼’ drill bit and drilled a couple of hundred holes in the cushions, sort of removing ¼” round plugs of foam. You can adjust the comfort level by drilling just a few holes and then testing the firmness. Drill more holes until the softness suites your back.
Now the cushions are “just right”, as Little Red Riding Hood would say, and we sleep much better now.
